Japanese 100% cotton fabric, with motifs taken from the "Choju-giga".  

Dobby weave, with threads of irregular thickness, which gives a special relief to the fabric.

Choju-giga is a work of art from the Heian period (12th-13th century). Its name, which literally translates as "animal caricatures", gives us an idea of its content: a satirical portrayal of the customs and people of the time, in which human characters are replaced by anthropomorphic animals. 

Choju-giga, drawn on several rolls of washi paper, has been called "the first manga in history", in terms of its character as a visual caricature narrative.

The motif is printed in light colours, outlined in black, on a black background. The strokes are reminiscent of those found in Japanese "Manga".

Machine wash at low temperature, gentle cycle, preferably inside out, to ensure long life. Do not use bleach or whiteners, spin very gently, iron at low temperature.

It is recommended to wash before use. Cotton fabrics may shrink up to 5%.
