Asanoha pattern over off-white
(€18.50 por metro)
Japanese fabric. Asanoha pattern over off-white.
100% cotton Japanese fabric of the renowed brand Quilt Gate, with an Asanoha (Hemp leave) pattern in blue, printed on an bone white background.
This printed pattern evoques the ancient ´Kasuri´weaving technique.
The Kasuri technique is a very laborious technique, used for centuries to obtain fabrics of an indigo blue color with repetitive motifs. For this, the threads to be used were tied following a different pattern according to the final motif one wished to obtain, and they were died in successive baths of indigo until you had that characteristic deep blue color. Afterwards, expert weavers worked the fabric in motifs more or less complex according to their level of experience.
