Temari over a deep red vintage
(€20.90 por metro)
Japanese fabric. Temari over a deep red vintage background
Japanese fabric in dobby 100% printed cotton.
The dobby is a cotton fabric weaved with uneven threads, which gives it a unique touch.
The irregular weft creates a textured surface, that resembles the tsumugi silk (also known as raw silk) weaved with the threads obtained from the very end of the silk cocoon, so that thickness differs from one to another.
We love this uneven fabric, as it completely fits in Japanese aesthetic tradition of finding beauty in imperfection (wabi-sabi)
The base has been dyed previous to the impression with a muted turmeric color. This produces a vintage effect in the set.
The pattern of temari balls (small Japanese toys consisting of embroidered balls) and decorated circles with classic drawings was designed with diffuse edges, evoking the printing technique called meisen, used in Kimono fabrics during the first decades of the XXth century.
Deep dark red and rust colors for this unique fabric.
