(€19.90 por metro.)
Japanese fabric ‘Tatoo: Hawks’ in blue. 100% cotton.
Japanese 100% cotton fabric. Motif depicting falcons and pine branches, in shades of blue, which brings to mind Japanese tattoos. The lines, in ivory colour, give it a retro touch.
Hawks are known for being an auspicious symbol, having been associated with the samurai for centuries. The samurai used feathers of this noble bird in celebration of victories.
Falcon feathers were often found on the shields (kamon) of samurai families.
Another motif with special significance that appears on this fabric is that of the pine tree. The pine tree conveys a wish for longevity; this is because its leaves do not fall from the branches in winter, which means that the tree remains evergreen, even in this cold season.
Because of its resistance to bad weather, it also represents determination.
