Japanese fabric ‘Maiko’, the geisha apprentice, in ivory.
Japanese cotton fabric with a beautiful motif of maikos, the geisha apprentices, with their colourful kimonos, long obi belts and parasols. The background is a soft ivory with a grey pattern of wagasa umbrellas, and sakura (cherry blossom) petals printed in gold.
The motifs are delicately outlined with golden metallic pigment.
Each maiko measures 6-7 cm wide by 15 cm high.
The overall view is half-width (55 cm). The motif is repeated every 60 cm of fabric.

Machine wash at low temperature, gentle cycle, and preferably inside out, to ensure long life. Do not use bleach or whiteners, spin very gently, iron at low temperature on the reverse side.
It is recommended to wash before use. Cotton fabrics may shrink up to 5%.
