Japanese dobby fabric "Kiku to sakura" with violet background.
(€19.00 por metro)
Japanese 100% cotton dobby fabric "Kiku to sakura" on purple background.
Japanese dobby fabric printed on 100% cotton. The floral motif features Kiku (chrysanthemums) and sakura (cherry blossoms) in orange and greenish tones, on a violet background.
The dobby is a cotton fabric weaved with uneven threads, which gives it a unique touch.
The irregular weft creates a textured surface, that resembles the tsumugi silk (also known as raw silk) weaved with the threads obtained from the very end of the silk cocoon, so that thickness differs from one to another.
We love this uneven fabric, as it completely fits in Japanese aesthetic tradition of finding beauty in imperfection (wabi-sabi)
