Japanese fabric Rustic Indigo. 'Boro II' in shades of blue
(€19.00 por metro)
Japanese fabric Rustic Indigo. 'Boro II' in shades of blue.
Japanese 100% cotton fabric.
Boro is the Japanese art of repairing garments over and over again, by sewing small cotton patches. The result is strong and durable pieces, when resources were scarce.
This fabric, whose motif is made up of small pieces of different patterns, evokes the boro technique. The pattern is made up of eight different shades of blue, and two shades of beige/tan.
Flat fabric made with slightly thick threads, resulting in a lightly open fabric, with some transparency and good drape. This arrangement and thickness of threads transmits a touch of rustic, traditional fabric, reminiscent of those woven by hand. This gives name to this series: "Rustic Indigo"
Perfect, for example, for a kimono cut jacket.
Idea: You can mix different prints from this series with fabrics from your favorite old jeans, and give them a second life in the form of a jacket, bag, or patch them up using the sashiko technique. If you need sashiko needles and threads, you can find them HERE
