Japanese dobby fabric. Cats and seigaiha over off white (size:S).
(€19.40 por metro)
Japanese dobby fabric. Cats and seigaiha over off white. Smaller version of this iconic pattern.
Japanese fabric in dobby printed in 100% cotton.
The dobby is a cotton fabric weaved with uneven threads, which gives it a unique touch.
The irregular weft creates a textured surface, that resembles the tsumugi silk (also known as raw silk) weaved with the threads obtained from the very end of the silk cocoon, so that thickness differs from one to another.
We love this uneven fabric, as it completely fits in Japanese aesthetic tradition of finding beauty in imperfection (wabi-sabi)
The pattern depicts funny cats playing Hide and Seek in a seigaiha (waves) sea.
This fabric was available in a slightly larger print size. If you knew the first version of this fabric, please note that the pattern is now approximately 20% smaller.
