Japanese 100% cotton fabric. Dobby weave, with threads of irregular thickness, which gives a special relief to the fabric.

The motif depicts, in simplified form, the birds known as "Chidori" (here known as plovers). These little birds walk along the seashore, and are often depicted flying over the waves. This gives them an auspicious meaning related to the ability to overcome challenges. They also represent family security and the courage to achieve goals.

As the song of this bird sounds "chiyo" (千代: a thousand years, or a very, very long time), this pattern is also associated with the wish for longevity.

Machine wash at low temperature, gentle cycle, preferably inside out, for long life. Do not use bleach or whiteners, spin very gently, iron at low temperature.

It is recommended to wash before use. Cotton fabrics may shrink up to 5%.
