The haori is a jacket to be worn over the kimono. Give it a second life and dare to wear it over your favourite jeans, slim black trousers.... It will look great!
Woven with the meisen technique, in the first half of the 20th century, which can be seen by the characteristic "blurred" edges of this technique.
Vintage haori in 100% silk in soft red colour with geometric print.
The sleeves and the upper part of the body are lined with two types of silk. Inside the sleeves and the front part of the haori, the lining is printed with chrysanthemums (kiku) in orange tones. In the area of the back that is lined, the lining is made of bright red silk with multicoloured flower patterns.
The sleeves are exceptionally long (63cm), which reveals that it was worn by a young woman.
It includes a lace to fasten it (haori himo) in fuchsia.
On the sides it has, perfectly integrated, two extension pieces measuring 2 cm under the armhole, and 5 cm at the bottom (see photo).
It is in excellent condition, with no stains or appreciable deterioration.
