Japanese windchimes, Furin, are hung on windows, doors and verandas as soon as summer begins, and collect the light summer breeze to turn it into a gentle tinkling sound that caresses our ears.
This furin, made of glass, is decorated with plants and colours that simulate the water of a pond. Inside, swaying as the furin moves as if it was swimming in the pond, there is a red fish (kingyo).
Goldfish are present at all summer festivals in Japan.
It carries a banner that sways in the wind. On it you can read the inscription "suzukaze", fresh air.
