Beautiful Japanese chiyogami paper that represents the colorful fireworks of white, pink, turquoise blue and golden strokes over a deep black background. I like this paper, because of its festive motifs as well as the poetic Japanese word used to say “fireworks”. Hanabi, or artificial fire, is made by two kanjis:  花火, the first means flower and the second means fire, so that way the literal translation would be “fire flower”.

The washi paper made of long fibers is very flexible and resistant. It is machine made with kozo and sulfite fibers. Silk-screen printed later by hand in so many steps with colors.
Due to the production techniques, the full planks of washi chiyogami paper (of 97cmx65cm) have a frame of approximately 1cm in white. The specified dimensions refer to the printed part. The measurements as well as the weight are approximated, since they can lightly vary from one provider to another.
