Setsubun Oni (Japanese demon) mask in red.

Terrifying Japanese demon mask, Oni, in red colour, to celebrate Setsubun. Handmade in paper mache (not plastic!), and decorated by hand.

At Setsubun, roasted soy beans are thrown at the Oni, while shouting the phrase "Oni wa soto, fuku wa uchi!", which means "Out with the demons (oni), and in with good luck! In this way, evil and oni are expelled from our house, and at the same time, fortune is attracted.

It has a rubber band so that you can wear it as a mask, but you can also use it to hang it on the wall as a decoration.
