From the legendary brand Kuretake, founded in 1902, we bring you this pocket set that will go everywhere with you.
"Irodori kobako" (彩り小箱) means "little box for painting".
Colours inspired by Japanese nature, taking into account the passing of the seasons.
The set comes in a box lined with washi paper decorated in red. It includes a water brush, a Kuretake "Mangaka" black 0.1mm brush, and 6 Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour colours, evoking the Zorn palette.
They dissolve quickly with water, you can use conventional brushes or, for example, Kuretake water brushes.
Kuretake started out as a family-owned ink manufacturing company. More than a century of experience with pigment formulation has resulted in versatile watercolours, which can be used to obtain opaque colours, like gouache, or to achieve veils and transparencies, like watercolour, depending on the amount of water and technique used.
Kuretake watercolour tablets have a high density of pigment, as well as a creamy texture when activated with water.
You can learn various techniques to get the most out of your watercolours on the Kuretake website.
