Japanese brooch carp kites blue

The koinobori kites decor the Japanese houses every year on May 5th, during the celebration of the Kodomo no hi (こどもの日) or Children’s day.
The black kite represents the father, the red the mother and the blue the child.
 
This brooch, in blue, represents one of the carps that make the kite, that fly through the sky in cities, over the rivers and that have become a symbol of Japan and one of its most rooted and cheerful traditions.
